plot summary

Cloverfield is about five friends surviving a attack from an unknown creature from the perspective of a hand held camera. The movie begins with the going away party for Rob Hawkins who was recently promoted and is now moving to Japan. The party is used for him to tie up loose ends and say his goodbyes. But during the party Manhattan is attacked by a strange creature. The friends and partygoers scatter on the streets of New York only to find the decapitated head of the statue of liberty being hurled at them.

Rob and co. must (not really must, but Rob decides it’s a must) make their way through Manhattan (and through the creature) to save Rob’s love, Beth.
